  • Aussie mum Katherine Wood felt constantly bloated after her second pregnancy
  • She tried to lose weight but nothing seemed to work
  • Instead, she opted to try the Health with Bec program but was ‘skeptical’
  • She made low carb meals and never felt restricted, like she wasn’t on a diet

An Australian mother-of-two who constantly felt bloated and tired lost 17kg in eight months following a ‘no diet’ diet.

Katherine Wood, from Perth, tipped the scales at 88kg and spent years believing her body ‘was a failure’ after trying to lose weight – but nothing seemed to work.

The 33-year-old tried fasting, drinking smoothies, the 5:2 diet, reducing portion sizes, but couldn’t stave off cravings.

“I didn’t appreciate the restricted diet, I couldn’t stop my chocolate addiction and the recipes weren’t inspiring!” Kat said.

After choosing to try the Health with Bec program, she was able to achieve her weight loss goals and improve her relationship with food.

Australian mum Kat spent years believing her body “was a failure” because she tried “every diet” but nothing ever seemed to work. After enrolling in the Health with Bec program, she managed to lose 17 kg in eight months

“I was nervous about trying something new, something I was quite skeptical about because I didn’t want to fail at another ‘thing’ because I already felt very low self-esteem” , she said. To lose weight, Kat swapped ingredients to reduce her carb intake, making it look like she wasn’t dieting at all.

“My biggest hurdle before joining was understanding that it was a low carb diet – as I was brought up on pasta, bread, rice and potatoes homemade as staple foods.

“I thought I would never be able to cut back on my carbs and still enjoy my food or stay full, but I was immediately blown away by how delicious, hearty and filling the meals were.”

To lose weight, Kat swapped ingredients to reduce her carb intake, making it look like she wasn’t dieting at all.

“For example, I replace curry rice with cauliflower rice and have Slendier edamame pasta instead of real pasta,” she said.

After completing the 3 week body reset program, Kat noticed quick results and decided to join the Health with Bec Tribe – a community to keep the momentum going and help women achieve their goals.

Along with focusing on her nutrition, she also worked out five times a week.

She learned to be meal-conscious and reduce her carb intake by replacing ingredients.

For example, she replaced rice with cauliflower rice and pasta with edamame pasta.

Along with focusing on her nutrition, she also worked out five times a week.

Kat said going on the ‘no diet’ diet ‘wasn’t boring’ and her outlook on food had changed drastically.

“I eat to nourish my body instead of punishing it; I’ve also found that many of my favorite family pastimes can be adapted to be more low carb meal compliant, which is awesome,” she said.

“I ate more than before, none of the meal preparation felt overwhelming, and at no time did I actually ‘feel’ like I was on a restrictive diet.”

She cooked meals in bulk and froze portions for “nights when you don’t have time to cook.”

‘I feel so full of beans! I train five times a week and I feel strong! I’ve lost so much bloating around my abdomen and face and I’m celebrating my body instead of running away from it,’ she said.

“I’m no longer bloated, my digestion is excellent, my cycle has calmed down, my sleep is better and the way I talk to myself has improved dramatically.”

Not only has her relationship with food changed, but also her relationship with herself.

“I have a much kinder inner voice and my self-esteem has continued to improve!” she says, and has the ambition to be an excellent role model for her children.
