Emeritus Professor Richard Wurtman, influential figure in translational research, dies at 86
Richard Wurtman, Cecil H. Green Professor Emeritus and MIT faculty member for 44 years, died Dec. 13. He was 86 years old. Wurtman received an MD from Harvard Medical School in 1960 and trained at Massachusetts General Hospital before joining the laboratory of Nobel laureate Julius Axelrod at the National Institutes of Health in 1962. …
